Sorry for not updating at all this year, I won't get into any details but let's just say it's my fault and leave it at that.

For those of you who still read this, I plan on making a fresh start in the New Year. My plans are to finish Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch before doing anything else. Once that is finished I'm hoping to either do the second season as well, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch PURE or find something else to sub, something that will actually be released this time. Again I apologize for all the screw ups of the past that usually resulted from me being lazy myself, but I intend to fix that in the new year as well. So please look forward to some Toki releases in the new year.

I have decided to get a new layout, as we're getting started again for fall.
We have released some new stuff and some older stuff.
Zero no Tsukaima II has been completed. ZnT3, Slayers, WD have been dropped due to dropping or extremely busy translators.

Updates Again

Alrighty then. It's been a while since you've heard from me. Hopefully you guys still check this.

So this Summer we plan on subbing Slayers Revolution, Zero no Tsukaima: Princess Rondo, and possibly World Destruction.

Thing with World Destruction is I had a TL for it, and he was alright with TLing it. Then he disappeared on me.

On the off chance that he shows up again, I do plan on resuming my schedule of TLing World Destruction. And at the same time, if he does show up again that should also mean that I can continue with my plans of subbing the Sousei no Aquarion movie.

Anyways, my plans for right now are as follows" Slayers REVOLUTION, Zero no Tsukaima: Princess Rondo, World Destruction. And when I get free time in between all that, or I don't end up picking up World Destruction, I want to also get as much Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch out as I can. And speaking of which, if it all goes according to plan, I should hopefully have episode 40 out by the end of the week or shortly later.

Updates Galore

Alrighty so now for some updates. Some of you may have noticed that I'm back now. Well, just to confirm it, yes I'm back now. I had to replace my Video card AND my DVD Burner (It had a problem recognizing and reading CDs for some reason) and it also cost me $138 all together too :(

Anyways enough about that though. I do have some good news to share. I apologize for the wait, but I promise releases. First of all, we're going to finish Zero no Tsukaima Season 2. Ya, I know it's almost a year old now, but we've released 10/12 episodes. And the other 2 were translated as well, so I'd kinda like to see it get finished.

Secondly, I'm not sure when, but at the same time do any of you guys remember a group called Kaze no Koe Fansubs (KnKF)? Remember how they released 9 episodes, or maybe 10, of Tsubasa Chronicle Season 2? Well most of this group's core members also came from KnKF, and the TL worked really hard on those episodes, and translated them all for us. Unfortunately due to various circumstances that project was dropped. But I still have most, if not all, of those scripts and a lot of them were actually pretty much ready for Encode. So I'm going to try and get that released as well, just so that it doesn't go to waste.

I'm also working on finishing off another older series that Lunar started but never finished, called Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. Lunar released the first 39 episodes, and then got stalled. They haven't shown any life for that project since last September and I'm sure there are a few people out there who would like to see the rest of it. So I'm going to start at episode 40 and finish it off. I should be able to have the first release of that ready within a week or two, depending on how things go. And if that works out good, I plan on subbing the sequel, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch PURE as well, as no anime should ever go unsubbed. Especially if someone subs the first few episodes and then drops it, it's not fair to the people who want to see the rest of it.

Ok so you've heard about the 3 older series that I plan on finishing off and releasing, so now you probably want me to talk about newer series, like something from this Spring season. Well sorry to say, you won't see anything from Toki during the Spring season, HOWEVER! I plan on picking up 2 brand new projects this summer during the Summer season. I won't say which ones yet, but please look forward to them and don't count us as dead yet.

Quick Update

For those of you wondering:

I still don't have my computer back, but I know for certain what the problem is now. The fan for my Video Card broke, so my video card overheated literally melting a chip or two on the board itself. And it looks like to replace the Video Card with one equal to what I already have will cost me $49 + $25 for their work fee. And they might charge me a little extra for the cleaning as well, I'm not sure. So I'm looking at spending anywhere from $75 to $100 on this, cause I can't even say for sure that the $49 quote I'm giving you for my video card is right or not, I'm just going by their website, and what they give me might change depending on what they receive. Any help anyone wants to offer will be appreciated, but not necessary. I guess this week I just can't put any money away into a savings account, that's all...

Ok so it seems I might have been wrong about it being a monitor problem... After speaking with Edward_K and noticing a few new things on my own, I'm told it might actually be a problem with my video card and not my monitor. This new revelation came to me last night when I found an old monitor in my basement and hooked it up to my computer and found out it was doing the exact same thing as my first monitor and what are the chances that the same thing could happen to 2 monitors? That and I started to notice that my computer would get to a certain point in booting up and then reset on itself, and that didn't sound like something my monitor would cause... Anyways, a half decent - Good NVidia Video card costs a lot less than a new monitor, so if that's the case it won't be as expensive for me to fix anymore and I might even be able to afford it on my own.

So after a few setbacks and the fact that I'm saving up to go to 3 Anime Conventions this year, 1 in Canada and 1 in the US, I don't have a whole lot of money anymore unless I use some of my money that I'm saving up, and I was going to buy a used CRT off a coworker, but that's not looking all that good anymore. That thought had honestly never occurred to me. I could care less if I'm getting a 17" CRT or a 17" LCD monitor, I just need a monitor and I would like it soon. I know we might have been a bit of a disappointing group after OverDrive but that's just because of a lack of Translators... Anyways, if you want to donate to helping me get a new monitor so I can stop using the spare computer that I'm not supposed to be using, please donate and send me an e-mail telling me that that's what you're donating for... So basically here I am, still dead in the water. Thought I had a Translator for a while there, but he never showed up again after his first visit, so I don't know if I'll see him again or not.

That said my monitor just died. I was watching the second episode of the new Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien Season, and I guess it couldn't handle all of the bullshit in it, so it killed itself about 3/4 of the way through the episode. So I won't be online very much/at all for a while. So if you happen to come to our IRC channel and want to join us just talk to Ryuinichi (Or however he spells his name) or Floof or Paul and I'll make sure I get the message whenever I'm online. Or just e-mail me at tokifansubs@gmail.com and just be patient, one way or the other I'll eventually get the message.

Help Needed

Ok so I'll bet most of you are wondering why you haven't been seeing much, if anything from us, since the end of OverDrive. There are reasons for this.

First all of my Translators left. 2 disappeared, 2 were too busy in real life to continue TLing right now. And a 5th left for other reasons.

Next my ONLY xvid Encoder left me. Now some of you might not view this as a big loss and some of you probably don't even like xvid anyways and prefer h264, but there are some people out there who, for various reasons, can't watch h264 which is why I always like to provide xvid as well as h264.

And obviously, with no Translators I don't have anyone who can do Translation Checks either.

So there you have it. I'm in desperate need for Translators, I'll take either Chinese to English or Japanese to English. If you're Japanese to English, expect to do some TLCs for other projects here and there.

Any translator that might join us will also get to pick what Anime they want to translate.

And finally I'm also in need of another xvid Encoder.

Those are the 2 things I desperately need right now.

I was getting bored with the skin and thought we needed something light! I generally prefer lay-outs based on black, but that was a no-go with the beautiful weather I've been having today.
Green for spring, white for the anti-dark feelings from the winter!

As for releases; ZnT has been stalled due to QCers disappearing, idling and not doing a lot. Also we've had some problems with the ftp, making it hard to make progress at all. We are working on other stuff than ZnT, but it isn't anything from this season.

If you know a JP->EN translator, or if you are one yourself, stop by and help us! We're well staffed at anything, except for translators. As translator you may choose any anime really.

Lunar Games

So I meant to make mention of this last night but I forgot. I spent $120 buying both games off of ebay a couple weeks ago, and I doubt I'll regret it. Just wanted you guys to also know I wasn't really serious when I was asking for donations to help buy them. I mean I wouldn't turn those donations away, but they aren't needed. If you're going to donate I prefer you donate to the entire group and not just me.

That said I might not be here a lot right now as I've started to play the Lunar games and I have no idea how long that'll take or how absorbed I get.

So first of all Ryu's Haiku isn't bad, but you shouldn't use contractions in a haiku, cause they kinda screw up the syllables a bit...

Here's a Haiku I made back in High School based on a true story too:

A Woman spends years
Caring for her father's de-

Story behind that was a mentally challenged woman didn't realize that her father had died so she continued to care for him as if he was still alive for about 3 years before neighbors reported the smell to the police and that was when they found the woman's father's decomposing body.

And on a more serious note, as some of you have noticed OverDrive 24 is out, and as for 25 - 26 I'm hoping to get them both released at the same time or pretty close to it, this weekend.

The Lunar Video Game Series

Ok so here is the thing. I was browsing YouTube this afternoon looking for some good Anime Music Videos, when I suddenly stumbled upon an ending for a game called: Lunar Eternal Blue. I couldn't understand anything being said in the ending though cause it was all Japanese. So then I did some research on the series, since I remembered playing a ROM for a game called Lunar once and liking the game very much. And in my searching I found the article on wikipedia about the series and found out that Lunar: Silver Star Story and Lunar: Eternal Blue both had an American Sony Playstation release, and that those releases updated the games and made them better.

No OverDrive This Week

Ok guys, I know I promised I'd make a release before the end of the week, and I really really wanted to follow through with that promise too. I have it about 90% ready for release... But there is a Song Insert in Episode 24 that no one told me about until last night, so I'll need a few more days before it's ready, as I'm not going to release an episode without fully translating the song and adding some Karaoke Effects to it and everything. So again, I'm very sorry about this, but I promise to have it out as soon as I can.

These past... 5 releases and OverDrive - 23

So umm, lets see... I guess I've made 5 releases this past week, 6 if you count the v2 for OverDrive - 21... So where should I begin? The torrents are up for all of the releases. It's fun playing with you guys in #toki-fansubs. Though part of it is cause I'd like to see more people idle in there more often and I'd like to keep raising the number of people we get in the channel... Currently the channel has peaked at 284 users...

And that brings us to our next topic... OverDrive 23. I promised you guys I'd release it this weekend sometime, I was aiming for Sunday night then it looked like it might happen Saturday night instead, but unfortunately not everything happens that fast all the time. So ya, it'll be released tomorrow after I get home from work... What time that will be, well that's for me to know and for you to sit patiently to wait and find out. Also when I release lets see if we can get the channel to peak over 300 this time, if we do maybe I'll get OverDrive 24 out before the end of next week as well... I guess that's about all from me...

Ok so I made my first release tonight as the new group leader. Now I had some problems, mainly in the fact that I've never made a Torrent before... And even when I received some help in that area and had the torrent made for me, I still had problems with it. So as of right now, I've released it onto DDL and I've DCCed it to the bots in the channel as well, so it should be available on those bots within a few hours as well. The main problem right now is the torrent, I'm not sure when that will be available.

Well, as of today, I've officially quit fansubbing, hopefully this time for good. Not feeling I'm the proper leader for this group. (Due to really just not having a lot of time these days and my recent loss of interest in fansubbing all together.)

Therefore, I'm leaving the group to a guy I know who will hold the same passion I once did, and provide you guys with possibly better quality once it's all said and done. You all know him (DOUBT IT!), His name is Ga-Wait that's only what we call him, his real name is Sparhawk.

So good luck to him and the rest of these gifted staff members. I really hope they'll sail on calm waters and succeed where I can not.

Well, hate to say it, but this isn't a new release post. This is a recruiting post =). We're currently in serious need of dedicated Editors, Quality Control, Translators and BT Seeders. =(.

Editors- Not a lot required, you must be able to download raws and edit the subtitles, (in notepad or aegisub doesn't really matter which) you will be expected to apply proper grammar and spelling to the subtitles.

Quality Control- Because things do slip through the cracks, basically you will be expected to download pre-releases as they pop up on our ftp, you will watch the pre-release, and note errors such as spelling, timing, audio, typesetting, karaoke, everything in general, that could be considered an error.

BT Seeders- Basically you get a release before everyone else, and when the torrent is up, you seed it, pretty simple, ne?

Translators: Saved the best for last, and hardest to find. Pretty simple, if you can translate Japanese to English, we need you for winter and spring series that are coming up. Since we have TLC, we wouldn't mind Chinese to English translators either.

I'd like to say that we're a bit disappointed of how some people react to our speed on subbing. So for those people wondering: Please understand that we're not holding episodes for you. We simply release when they get done. When they get done, is not something we can speed up. Our staff does have lives of their own. When they can sub, they will! So you really don't have to ask when they're coming. The first moment we know when something is ready for release, it's just a matter of hours... We rather spend time on working on finishing an episode than on being distracted by people that ask for when something's released. So, keep that in mind and everyone's happy. ;P

Oh, and more release are really soon to come. Don't worry.. =)

Yo, okay, so we released Over Drive 17, but... =( The tracker seems to be having issues. So this is a channel only release, and can be downloaded off our bot (Shinozaki|Xevious). OverDrive 18+ will be following soon! So don't give up hope ;) Not yet atleast. For those wondering about Sketchbook as well as our other new fall anime, they will be released.... Soon. Sketchbook is getting into the last few stages for Episode 1, so we'll see a release soon! =)

Well as one would have it, Over Drive 26 has finally appeared on the net in raw form. Curious to know if this was really the last episode, I downloaded it, and can confirm. This ends the little arc that Episode 1 has begun. Whether or not this is it for Over Drive or not, we're not sure. Season 2 may be a high possibility. Unlike other animes, Over Drive seems to stay decently on track with the manga, and still has a lot more to go on.

If we hear any word of a Season 2, we'll be sure to keep everyone updated.

So we released Over Drive 16 and Zero No Tsukaima S2 7 (Yeah we realize it's pretty much over in japan T.T, we're working on it, seriously.).

With Over Drive, I would just like to bring up a point that bugs me, as two people have now said this. We in no way, have control over the Episode Titles, and their bad grammar. We did not typeset them, they were burned into the video source from the start, as in, the Japanese producers did them. So please, do not bash our typesetter, qc or editor for the Episode Title.

Feel free to however bash them for other mistakes =).

Future OverDrive Releases.

Well, a lot of you, probably aren't liking the delays. Nor am I. That said, I've decided that I'm no longer going to delay the releases based on quality(Unless of course it's just really blocky and pixelated...*cough*14*cough*). But our raws, despite the fact they're 300-600mbs in size, and 1280*720, just aren't all that great. Truth be told, none of the Over Drive Raws really are all that good, hinting, that the source just sucks. That said, we may or may not do a DVD Release with these. Truthfully, who knows if once we reach episode 26, if we'll even like where the anime writers are going >.>... Only time will tell.

Edit: Overdrive 13-14 are out... Again remember the source quality sucks, sorry =\.

Edit2: Another one(Overdrive 15), as I don't want people to do their homework. Enjoy, and this is the last one for tonight.

All right, I'm really getting tired of this, people aren't looking at our website, and they're continually whining about OD releases. They're asking if we've dropped it, etc... Honestly, it's really annoying. Yeah, I realize, no releases, people are sad, life sucks, I know the stories.

Please, just stop asking.

That said, overdrive 12-14 have been pretty much ready for like... weeks now. So why haven't we released them? It's because episode 12 is gay as hell, and every time I encode it, it craps out on me, and gives me shitty quality. So I passed it to Kazuma_Yagami, and then he dissapeared -_-;. So I've passed it to Lankan, and he's working on it now, so we'll see.

When it's ready, it'll be released, simple as that.

Just a little more patience.

Hiya, if you guys are still waiting, then my apologies to you all. We've had quite a nice response to all of this, however... For every 20 people I tried to sign up, etc... I got 4-5. So since these individuals have taken the time to be around and have already gotten a little more than half the way into the training. I'm currently not going to get anyone else started. Why? Because it's just to chaotic as it is, to keep them all moving at a steady pace and attend to their questions, as well as attempt to do some fansubbing, so we can get some more stuff out.. Not only that, school is back in place and already dragging me down with it. That said, I am still looking for people to apply for our training, and i'm going to try and get as many people together for the second grouping of what we're calling "Toki-School."

So have a little patience, keep submitting your little applications if you're interested, and we'll get you started, just as soon as I get these guys into mainstream. As I mentioned before, i'm very happy with the response we're getting and hope that a lot more people get in on this, and help us get things out faster.

All right, I've received a decent amount of replies to our newest post, and though I'm quite happy about this, i'm also a bit bogged down in real life and internet, so i'm doing my best to get everything setup, and get back to everyone who has applied.

I can still use a few more replies, as chances are good... Once people have the knowledge, or we're done subbing OverDrive, they'll leave. So please do not apply, if you're only in it for OD, as we're looking for serious future staff members. Not a temp fix.

One other note, please do not apply if you are currently residing in Australia, as there is just to much of a time barrier between me and some of you... With school in place, and most of our staff in North America, it makes it quite difficult to teach/train those in Australia, let alone get back to some of you.

Once again, please have a bit of patience, I will get back to all of you that apply.

Okay, with sparhawk in Ajax for a job interview, I find myself having a really hard time trying to hire on people. He's alot better at finding staff than me.. However the deal is... We need staff, like bad. The biggest problem with most people who watch our fansubs, is that they think it automatically requires Japanese Training or something... When that's so far off from the truth.
Now, We really really really, need staff. I will personally train people for positions, got alot of time? Got like little to no time? We'll train ya' and put ya' in a position that'll fit you personally. What's more, there are several people complaining about the speed, jump in this, help us get them out. Hell, you'll even get to watch your favorite subs ahead of the official releases, that enough should be a good reason for most to join.

We lost a typesetter and an encoder... We misplaced them when we were cleaning up the Pantry T.T.. Did we put them behind the parsely and rosemary? Or maybe behind the cumin and garlic power... Oh no~.

This could quite possibly delay some of our releases. Zero No Tsukaima HQ Releases, would be the major thing delayed in all of this. So if you can encode into h264, put the file in a mkv container with selectable subs and font, bring some oregano, and meet us in the pantry.

Typesetter... We just need them in general.

So we made a boo-boo =(, we released episode 11 with two small errors, one being a timing error around 16mins, and the other being an editing error in that same area. In light of this find, we've created a V2 of the file, so people can have a quality release. We're extremely sorry for the inconvience.

So after a um... "Small" delay, we finally are pushing OverDrive out again =). The anime continues to deepen and get even more interesting. Have to be honest though, I really hope that this goes alot farther than 26 episodes... As the manga goes so much farther.

Edit - Kioku: A few people have been asking us to sub this series a bit faster, but due to the fact that the HDTV raw doesn't come out till tuesday, we have been holding off on encoding our releases. So as to insure that the best quality is used and presented for this anime. I hope you all will enjoy our quality and understand this small delay is to insure quality not speed.

Well, no one wanted to update the topic. So I guess I am. We released Zero No Tsukaima Season 2: Knight of the Two Moons, besides this being one of my favorite animes, I have to say Season 2 looks really promising =). Hope everyone enjoys it, and will support us in this new race.

All right, honestly.. I can't take it anymore, we need Typesetters, like yesterday. It's really frustrating to be our only typesetter and have like 4-5 projects to work on. So I don't care who it is, they just need to be experienced, speak fluent English, and have a decent font collection. We also really need Karaoke Timers... Really really bad T.T;

So lately we've either been extremely busy or just lazy =\, things happen. With this release we get back on track, as well as display a new karaoke effect for the opening song. The karaoke effects were created by TeddyCow, and they're pretty neat to look at to say the least. Hopefully we'll have some more episodes out soon. Still looking for our samurai and military platoon =(, so join today, so we can have more staff to abuse. More abuse = More work done = More releases =).

So we're currently desperately looking for Translators right now. What's more, Translator Checkers would be lovely. The translators need to either be able to fluently speak Japanese and English, or be able to read Simp/Trad Chinese.

The animes we're looking to do are based on the ones coming out this summer in July.

That said, we're also in a huge need for other staff positions, many of which can be taught and would gladly be done (Saying you applied). So, let's just say we had a pain with these two episodes. The main problem was that we lost our fonts =(. Though I was able to replace a decent amount of them, I found out a few were worth quite a penny, and weren't easy to obtain. So a few fonts have been replaced, including the dialogue... Though I used another version of the font, so it's still pretty much the same font.
Yes, we realize the opening karaoke has a few mistimings, though not all of them are real mistimings, but rather look like it, based on the effect we use. That said, we have someone who has offered to do a new karaoke up for us, and so we'll see how far he gets. *Honestly, most of you will never watch the opening song again ;p*

Anyways, Eps 2-3 are out, we're working on 4-8. And we're getting the scripts ready for 1-3+, so we can get out the high quality releases.

So this is turning out to be a nightmare. I finally got around to formatting the other night, and come to find out... My sound drivers weren't installed, and I deleted my huge font folder >.<... So sound drivers, pfft, that's an easy fix. *Or so I thought...* Come to find this computer hates me, and reboots everytime I try to install the drivers.

So I finally got some advice just now, to update my motherboard drivers first... So we'll see if I can't get this going soon.

So I managed to obtain a very nasty virus set... After many problems and attempts to solve this problem without a reformat, it seems inevitable. So with me having exams and now this, there will be a small delay on getting releases out, however I assure you, once this little ti-bit is cleared up, we'll get releases out promptly so everyone can see the newer episodes.

So, we made our very first release =).

Would just like to mention the reason this took so long was due to alot of mistranslations and inconsistencies from our first translator =(... She didn't do a very good job at all, and though we're greatful, she pretty much vanished right after the first episode. So we've done alot of work to take what little we were given and turn it into a lot.

Small error, nothing huge, <.< >.> We left a credit in, that was suppose to be omitted. "Dats@Irc.Rizon.net" Originally we were going to embark on a joint, but once it was determined that we had different ideals for this anime, we decided to just not do it. However, after encoding this a decent amount of times *Cursed when it comes to encoding* I've decided to do as the beatles say and just "let it be."

Quite obviously, we're currently looking for staff and joints :o (Sorry the joints we're looking for are for other anime shows at this point, and not OverDrive). Especially for the new Sousei No Aquarion OAV, however we lack that essential thing that makes the ball roll.

So staff would be nice =). We're poor and stinky, and you could call us hippies with a lot of heart. So for now we'll use a blog, when we get a donation thing up, and saying it works, we'll move to a more permanent hosting/website provider.
